The Creature Kitchen photo album is a 16-page red scrapbook located on the kitchen hutch that tracks every creature, entity, and woodland spirit you encounter. Snapping a photo of an entity with the Polaroid camera registers their entry, reveals their food requirements, and is required to unlock the Cryptozoologist achievement.

How the Photo Album and Camera Work in Creature Kitchen

When you enter the cabin at the start of the game, a floating blue spirit orb directs you toward the red scrapbook sitting on the corner hutch. The album begins with 16 pages, offering visual hints of where entities appear, but it leaves creature names and dietary requests blank until you photograph them.

To photograph entities, pick up the Polaroid camera located inside the top compartment of the hutch. Aiming at a target and taking a picture permanently registers that entry in the album. Once photographed, the book updates with the creature's ID and shows exactly what meals they desire. Feeding creatures their required dishes earns you keys, which unlock new rooms, cabinets, and ingredients across the cabin and grounds.

Keep track of the camera while exploring. If you misplace it during your run, you may need to reload your save or check the lost-and-found basket near the cabin stairs.

Complete List of All 16 Photo Album Pages

The scrapbook follows a specific sequential order across the cabin, yard, and outer forest. Several entries require cooking specific meals, while late-game entries are environmental entities that require no food at all.

Step-by-Step Guide to Photographing Every Creature

Early Cabin Creatures (Pages 01 to 04)

  • Page 01 (Tutorial): Serves as an introductory guide for interaction, cooking basic recipes like Toast or Pancakes in the oven, and snapping pictures.
  • Corrin (Page 02): Head out to the front porch and interact with the wind chimes. A crow will fly down and land near the blue plate. Quickly snap its picture before it takes flight. Feed Corrin two dishes cooked in the oven to receive the fish head key, which unlocks the refrigerator.
  • Trash Cat (Page 03): Wait near the hole under the porch or interact with the rocking chair. A raccoon will appear and sit upright. Photograph Trash Cat, then feed him any two sandwiches (such as PB&J or an egg sandwich). He drops the square-head key to open the cheese cabinet.
  • Them (Page 04): Inspect the small hole in the kitchen baseboard. Place a cheese dish on the floor nearby to lure out the mice. You can photograph them together or individually (Goob, Pird, Ashe, and Conn). Feed them three snacks containing cheese to obtain the heart key for the bedroom door.

Yard and Pantry Spirits (Pages 05 to 08)

  • Hopper (Page 05): Take the empty mason jar from the picnic basket by the river, right-click near glowing swarms to gather fireflies, and put the jar back in the basket. A long-legged frog named Hopper will hop across the water. Photograph him and feed him two mushroom-based dishes gathered from the yard to earn the swirl key for the freezer.
  • Goober (Page 06): Unlock the pantry with the triangle key found on the hutch table. Goober is an invisible spirit who throws items off shelves. Wait for items to fly or listen for the audio cue, then snap a photo of the pantry air to reveal Goober. Feed him three Italian dishes (such as Alfredo, Pizza, or Spaghetti and Meatballs) to receive the diamond-head shed key.
  • Jake (Page 07): Enter the bedroom and toss the stacked cardboard boxes around the room. The large box next to the bed will sprout legs; this is Jake. Take his picture, then feed him three distinct dessert varieties (such as apple pie, cookies, or ice cream made using the unlocked freezer) to get the round-head key for the kitchen mug cabinet.
  • Grey (Page 08): Unlock the outdoor shed using Goober's key. Grab the red squeaky dog toy off the workbench and throw it toward the doghouse in the yard. Grey, a slender greyhound dog, will emerge. Take his photo and serve him three beef dishes (such as a burger, meatball sub, or beef stew) to obtain the water drop key for the bathroom.

Woodland and Strange Encounters (Pages 09 to 12)

  • Gerald (Page 09): Head into the bathroom, take the plunger from the wardrobe, and use it on the toilet to extract a Raw Fish. Carry the fish outside to the tree basket marked with a fish icon. A giant tentacle will reach down to take it. Snap your shot to register Gerald the tree octopus. Gerald requires four sky or sea meats (chicken or fish dishes) to reward the "X"-head key for the kitchen bowl cabinet.
  • Sassfoot (Page 10): Grab a mug from the unlocked mug cabinet, brew a cup of coffee using the coffee maker on the bedroom desk, and place the mug on the small table in the front yard. A secret compartment opens with raw bacon, and Sassfoot will emerge in the distant clearing. Photograph him and serve four breakfast meals (such as Toast, Pancakes, or Eggs and Bacon) to get the crescent moon key for the oddities room.
  • Mothman (Page 11): Grow a rose by digging the dirt mound near the cabin with the shovel, planting rose seeds found in the shed, covering them with soil, and watering them. Take the grown rose into the oddities room and place it in the window vase. A humanoid moth entity will knock on the window. Photograph him and feed him four vegetarian dishes (like House Salad or Chips and Guacamole) to get the first half of the crest.
  • Pants (Page 12): A white pair of walking legs will knock at the cabin door and sit at the dining table. Photograph Pants early, but you cannot complete his request until the late game. After meeting the Giant Deer, unlock the hallway table cabinet with the Pants key to retrieve Fortunate Gems cereal. Place a bowl, spoon, milk, and cereal to feed him, prompting him to lead you into the deep woods.

Environmental Entities (Pages 13 to 16)

  • Giant Deer Thing (Page 13): After opening the oddities room French doors using both halves of the crest, venture into the backyard clearing. Approach the glowing circle in the woods to witness the spectral deer guardian. Snap its photo during this encounter (or resume your game after the credits to visit the garden clearing).
  • Friend (Page 14): Immediately following the Giant Deer sequence, the glowing blue spirit orb that guided you at the game's start will hover in place to grant you the Pants key. Photograph the orb directly to register "Friend" in the scrapbook.
  • The Moon (Page 15): Look up toward the sky above the cabin or clearing at any time during the night. Aim the camera directly at the celestial body and take a picture to log "The Moon."
  • Fireflies (Page 16): Approach any glowing swarm of bugs near the yard or riverbank. Aim your camera into the cluster of lights and take a photograph to complete the "Fireflies" entry.

Photographing Tips and Known Issues

  • Camera Aiming Priorities: When trying to photograph Sassfoot or outdoor entities, players on Steam forums note that the camera detection can accidentally tag the Moon or Fireflies if they are in the frame. Ensure you are close enough and frame the creature against the ground or trees to avoid triggering background entities.
  • Post-Game Exploration: Finishing the game by roasting a marshmallow with the family around the bonfire does not wipe your progress. Selecting "Resume" from the main menu returns you to the cabin, allowing you to finish missing recipes, explore room secrets, or take pictures of any environmental entities you bypassed.
  • Missing Camera Glitch: If you drop or toss the camera right before triggering the final campfire sequence, some community members have reported difficulty retrieving it upon reloading. To be safe, keep the camera held in your hands rather than discarding it on the ground before interacting with final cutscene props.
